Mindset: The Real Investment That Pays for Life

I have said it too many times.

“The numbers do the talking, but the story behind the deal drive it home.”

Recently, I had the honor of working with one of my clients, Jack Stone, a 98-year-old World War II veteran. Yes, you read that right—ninety-eight years old—and he just bought another investment property.

Most people proudly proclaim, “I ain’t doing shit when I retire!”

I respond: “So, you plan on living out your life dying?”

I usually get a bewildered look.Look here, when your feet hit the floor in the morning and they don’t have a purpose, then you are just heading to your grave.

“Because I can.”

That’s mindset in its purest form.

The Power of Purpose

If you’re 30, 40, or 50 years old and thinking you’re “too late” to change careers, start investing, or chase that dream that’s been whispering to you—think about Jack Stone.

Jack Stone has purpose.

He’s living proof that you’re never stuck unless you decide to be. The walls around your potential are built by you. It is sustained by your own limiting beliefs. And just like in real estate, those walls can be torn down, rebuilt, and improved. You can be rehabbed. You can still add value to your life.

The market doesn’t define you. Your boss doesn’t define you. Your age doesn’t define you.
Your mindset does.

Growth Never Retires

Jack’s story isn’t about real estate. It’s about growth. It’s about a man who refuses to let age, time, or circumstance tell him when to stop learning or moving forward.

We live in a world where too many people retire mentally long before they ever retire financially. Jack flips that idea on its head. He’s proof that you can stay sharp, purposeful, and engaged by continually setting new goals and creating action.

A Lesson for All of Us

If you ever feel stuck in a career that seems to be going nowhere, or if you think your best years are behind you, remember this:

At 98 years old, Jack Stone just bought another investment property.

He’s not just investing in real estate.

He’s investing in life.

So, what’s your excuse?
