Steve Unruh is a licensed and seasoned real estate professional. Steve has built a team that is committed to the highest standards of client service. He and his team are dedicated to earning each client’s trust by providing sound real estate advice, with a professional and personalized approach.
Steve, a mid-Michigan native, quickly learned the timeless lesson that hard work pays off from farm and business experiences beginning in his youth. Following a successful high school career, Steve enlisted in the United States Army as an infantryman. During his enlistment, he discovered the importance of responsibility and service to others. As a leader, he learned valuable lessons from his mentors, including SSG Martin, that a position of authority is not about command as it is about a greater opportunity for service. “By taking care of your soldiers, they will always
take care of you.” Steve brings that same passion to his work today.
While attending Central Michigan University, Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Sociology. Despite struggling financially to put himself through college, he prioritized volunteering his time to troubled youth at Listening Ear, a crisis center, where he earned several accolades. Upon his graduation, Steve joined the ranks of the Michigan State Police with the 117 th Trooper Recruit School. His assignment from the academy was to the Metro-North Post where he, eventually, retired in 2019.
Although his police work was demanding, he found time to pursue many activities including running marathons, Ironman triathlons, swimming from Alcatraz Island, and climbing a 14,000 ft mountain. Additionally, Steve received a Master of Science from Oakland University, where he presented his studies at several annual conferences.
Each of Steve’s experiences has come from strong work ethic, discipline, and compassion. The tenacity it takes to train for an Ironman, or the compassion to listen to someone in crisis can be applied to real estate. It takes tenacity to find a proper solution for your real estate problems. It is no secret that homeownership is an emotional matter. A home is where fond memories are created, and internal struggles are overcome. Steve Unruh takes buying and selling homes very seriously.
